M-16 Titanium

Here are two new production models of our highly successful M16® knife series with CNC machined 6AL4V titanium frames.
Kit Carson, Knifemakers’ Guild Member, and designer of the M16 Series, retired after 20 years as a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army, in Combat
Arms and Armor and Cavalry. He began making custom knives full time, and his custom titanium framed M16 quickly became a new performance standard.

In 1998, when Kit and CRKT began the planning to offer production versions of the M16, we decided to use 6061 T6 aluminum for the frame to keep the
price low enough to reach a wide audience. Again in 2000, we introduced a stainless steel InterFrame build M16 series with Zytel® scales, and its lower cost
proved extremely popular with an even broader group of knife users.

But knowledgeable knife enthusiasts continued to ask us, “When are you going to make the titanium version?” We have recognized the demand for these M16
designs in the premium alloy.

We are now offering the “Big Dog” M16-14T and the slim profile M16-13T, both with combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges on ceramic
bead blast finished AUS 8 stainless steel blades.

Kit’s M16 Series has become famous for many reasons: Their no-nonsense look. Wide blade design to handle a variety of difficult tasks. Sure-grip contoured
handles with a perimeter radius for a comfortable grip with or without work gloves. Stainless steel locking liners with friction grooves, for positive locking with
limited access, for superior safety. All models feature the “Carson Flipper” extension to the blade, which aids opening and acts as a blade guard.

One-hand opening and closing is velvet smooth, the result of precision tolerances and Teflon® bearings. The ambidextrous thumb stud with checkered surface
provides instant access in any circumstance. Both models feature a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip.

Both models also feature the patented Lake And Walker Knife Safety (LAWKS®), which effectively turns the folder into a fixed blade when actuated
(U.S. Pat. No. 5,596,808). The LAWKS mechanism positively blocks the knife’s liner lock from being accidentally released, regardless of how the locking
liner may be pressed.

These are true premium quality work tools with a special combination of strength, durability, and edge retention, resulting in a very long service life. They
also are attractive, exceptionally finished knives which are suitable for collecting. They are remarkable values when compared to other titanium build
production knives.
