Forty Nine
The Forty Nine's patented RSS firing system combines the best of traditional
double action pistols with the best of modern striker-fired guns to produce
a trigger pull that feels more like your favorite revolver than an autoloader.
FN's Patented RSS (Repeatable Secure Striker) firing system takes striker-fired
systems to a new level. Many striker systems on the market today
are, in essence, single action pistols. They need to be recocked in order
to fire again. Just pick up an empty one and pull the trigger twice. It only
clicks
once. With the Forty Nine's RSS, a shooter can "restrike" a round
that misfires. The RSS is also safe. The striker is completely at rest until
the trigger is
pulled. There are no springs pulling the trigger in the firing direction.
This at-rest position greatly reduces the risk of accidental discharge.
