Gold Match II
Kimber Gold Match pistols set the standard against which all other production
1911's are judged. With features, fit and finish comparable to that of
pistols made by America's finest pistolsmiths, a Gold Match is ready for any
level of competition right out of the box. At the same time, a Gold Match
sells
for less than half of the price of a custom pistol, and you do not need to
wait a year for delivery.
Gold Match pistols have all the features of the Custom Target or Stainless
Target, and include Custom Shop features such as extended ambidextrous
thumb safety, match grade barrel with polished match grade chamber machined
from a stainless steel forging, select hand-checkered double diamond
rosewood grips and an eight round magazine.
Each pistol has a highly polished finish on the flats, but curved surfaces
on the top of the slide and front of the frame are matte. This is important,
as the
matte slide does not reflect light and the matte frame ensures a positive
grip.
Gold Match barrels are machined oversized, then fitted by hand in the Custom
Shop to a stainless steel barrel bushing, ensuringthe level of
accuracy needed in competition.
After final assembly, pistols are mounted on a special machine that cycles
the slide hundreds of times. A Quality Assurance Inspector then determines
that critical dimensions hold and meet exacting standards.
Like all Kimber pistols, every Gold Match is made entirely in our New York
factory. This is the only way to ensure that unyielding quality standards
are
maintained and that every pistol is worthy of the Kimber name engraved on
the slide.
A stainless steel match grade barrel is the core of every Gold Match pistol.
Air gauging confirms end-to-end consistency to one-thousandth (.001) inch.
The barrel is hand-fitted to the barrel bushing in the Custom Shop for competition
accuracy.
Like all Kimber pistols, the frame and slide of each Gold Match are mated
together early in production, then travel through the factory together to
ensure every part matches perfectly as it is fitted.

 The Kimber adjustable sight with reliable and responsive steel-on-steel click adjustments is a Gold Match standard. Serrations on blade are angled and beveled to deflect glare, and edges are beveled to prevent snags. |
Gold Match II
The Gold Match II™ has all the features of the Custom along with a stainless
steel match grade barrel fitted by hand in the Custom Shop to a
stainless steel match grade barrel bushing, match grade Premium Aluminum Trigger,
Kimber adjustable sight, highly polished blue finish on flat
surfaces, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, select hand-checkered double
diamond rosewood grips and eight round magazine.
Stainless Gold Match II
Kimber's finest production pistol, the Stainless Gold Match II™ has
all the features of the Gold Match, with frame and slide machined from
premium stainless steel forgings. Highly polished finish on the flats. Also
available in .40 S&W.
