Any M96 Rifle can be converted to the "Recon Carbine" with just
a few new parts. The Recon Carbine Kit consists of a shorter
chrome-lined barrel, a shorter gas tube, and a shorter all stainless steel
operating rod assembly. The Recon kit also has our newest
gas adjustment system. The weight of the Recon Carbine is 8.2 lbs.
The M96 Recon Carbine above also exhibits olive drab furniture which is now available for your M96 Rifle.

* The M96 has a quick change barrel system which allows the operator to change
barrels without tools. There will shortly be
offered barrels of various lengths and weights, including chrome-lined barrels.
The BREN Gun configuration (top fed configuration)
requires a different barrel with offset front sights.
